Wooden Push Puppet Flamingo
is a traditional wooden novelty toy doll which is
articulated and
dances and jiggles when the button on the bottom is pushed in. This little flamingo is a lovely example of this type of
collapsing toy and is ideal because of its long legs and neck.
When the button on the base is pushed in it relaxes the strings that hold the flamingo together making all the wooden pieces collapse so the legs buckle, the wings move and and the neck bobs up and down. When the button is released the strings go tight and the flamingo stands up again. This
wooden novelty toy is very well made and the details and design are wonderful. The flamingos face has a little yellow and black eye and a lovely expression on its face. Push puppet toys have been around since 1932 and were first made in Switzerland. The fact that they are still here and entertaining children is a testament to this wonderfully fun and creative little toy. In a world of flashing buzzing toys it is a relief to find a moving toy that does not require batteries, just the push of a toddlers finger.
